The Temper Trap
Etichetta: Glassnote Records
These Aussies follow up 2009's Conditions and the fantastic "Sweet Disposition" with this self-titled sophomore release, which finds their anthemic songs thrust into more electro-laced territory. Like Keane's synth experimentation on Perfect Symmetry, The Temper Trap douse their big and bold melodies in glistening electronics here, thanks in part to new permanent keyboardist Joseph Greer. The result is dense and bold, from the funky, Clash-referencing shout-along "London's Burning" to poignant ballads "The Sea Is Calling," "Miracle" and "Rabbit Hole" to the post-punk-speckled "Never Again."
