Reek of Putrefaction
Etichetta: Earache Records Ltd
Hated by the band for its unbelievably terrible sound, Reek of Putrefaction, inflicted on the world in 1988, nevertheless is a pioneering moment in grindcore. The record sounds like it was recorded not in a shed but rather under one, submerged in water. The guitar solos are so crappy they actually really do sound like water. Few bands went to the lengths Carcass did to make people severely uncomfortable; the three-headed dog vocals alone are among the most profane in metal. Best song title is definitely either "Vomited Anal Tract" or "Regurgitation of Giblets."
