Informazioni su Benjamin Escoriza
Escoriza was working in Spanish television as an administrator when he joined two other musicians to found Radio Tarifa in the late 1980s. The band, devoted to exploring Spanish music as a cultural crossroads, quickly gained a cult following for their generous way with everything from Moorish and Sephardic music to flamenco. Radio Tarifa quickly became an international phenomenon, gaining plaudits for their sophisticated, complex rhythmic sense and investigation of the arcana of Spanish musical history. The group broke up in mid-2006 after releasing four critically acclaimed albums. Escoriza debuted his first solo album the next year, which featured many of the Radio Tarifa personnel, though it turned its spotlight on flamenco.
